Fine Italian Dining in the Middle of the Nickel Belt
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013
This is an excellent restaurant. Service is polished and professional. The food is delectable. The wine list is extensive and well chosen.
Our group of five visited on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was full. We were surprised to find Verdicchio in an industrial strip mall. Our cab driver told us that they could move it to the moon and people would still find it; he was right. We started with an excellent charcuterie and a selection of fine cheeses all well chosen and delicious. The ossobuco di vitello was among the best I have ever had and was accompanied by a tasty well seasoned risotto. The risottos are varied and delicious. The local Nipissing farm quail was delicious and meaty. The grilled salmon with bacco sauce was exceptional. Desserts are varied and surprising; some old favorites but great departures on some common themes.
The room is subdued and although all tables were occupied it is a quiet experience. Uncommonly well trained wait staff.
The wine list is the obvious work of a sommelier and has wine at price points for every taste. There is great value at this restaurant.
